Lukáš, a young widower with a child, was to marry Vendulka, but they are both stubborn. As soon as they met, they argued about a little kiss, which Vendulka, out of piety to the deceased, didn't want to give to Lukáš before the wedding. Therefore, Lukáš deliberately came under Vendulka's windows with the girls to humiliate his sweetheart. However, he regretted his action and apologised to Vendulka. She forgave him and wanted to prove him right, but Lukáš refused the kiss that time. Eventually, they fell into each other's arms.
 
This poetic work is a gem of beautiful Czech melodies, including the famous lullaby Hajej, můj andílku - Letěla bělounká holubička [Sleep well my little angel - A white dove flew over]. The libretto by Karolína Světlá is based on a true story, and the opera is a passionate and touching celebration of love. Hubička also has a special meaning for the Slovak National Theatre - on the same day as the new première - March 1, 1920, the new Slovak National Theatre was opened with the opera.
 
This production is presented on the occasion of the Year of Czech Music and the 200th anniversary of Bedřich Smetana's birth.
 
Running time is indicative, as the dress rehearsal is still due for the production.

Lukáš, ein junger Witwer mit Kind, soll Vendulka heiraten, beide sind jedoch dickköpfig. Gleich nachdem sie sich begegnen, streiten sie um einen Kuss, den Vendulka Lukáš, aus Respekt gegenüber seiner verstorbenen Frau, vor der Hochzeit nicht geben will. Lukáš kommt absichtlich mit einem anderen Mädchen unter Vendulkas Fenster, um seine Liebste zu erniedrigen. Dies bereut er jedoch und er entschuldigt sich bei Vendulka. Sie verzeiht ihm und will ihm Recht geben, aber diesmal ist es Lukáš, der den Kuss verweigert. Schließlich fallen sie sich in die Arme.
 
Das poetische Werk ist eine Schatztruhe wunderschöner tschechischer Melodik einschließlich des berühmten Wiegenlieds Hajej, můj andílku – Letěla bělounká holubička. Das Libretto von Karolína Světlá entstand nach einer wahren Begebenheit und die Oper ist eine innige und rührende Huldigung an die Liebe. Eine besondere Bedeutung hat Der Kuss auch für das SND – am Tag der Premiere – am 1. März 1920 wurde mit der Oper das neu gegründete Slowakische Nationaltheater eröffnet.
 
Die Oper wird aus Anlass des Jahres der tschechischen Musik und des 200. Geburtsjubiläums von Bedřich Smetana aufgeführt.
Die Vorstellungsdauer wird nur geschätzt, da die Generalprobe noch nicht stattgefunden hat.

Lukáš, mladý vdovec s dieťaťom, sa má oženiť s Vendulkou, no obaja sú tvrdohlaví. Hneď ako sa stretnú, pohádajú sa o hubičku – bozk, ktorý Vendulka z piety k nebohej nechce dať Lukášovi pred svadbou. Lukáš preto naschvál prichádza pod Vendulkine okná s dievčatami, aby svoju milú ponížil. Svoj čin však oľutuje a Vendulke sa ospravedlní. Tá mu odpustí a chce mu dať za pravdu, no tentoraz bozk odmietne Lukáš . Nakoniec si padnú do náručia.
 
Poetické dielo je klenotnicou nádhernej českej melodiky vrátane slávnej uspávanky Hajej, můj andílku – Letěla bělounká holubička. Libreto Karolíny Světlej vzniklo podľa skutočnej udalosti a opera je vrúcnou i dojímavou oslavou lásky. Špeciálny význam má Hubička aj pre SND, v rovnaký deň ako nová premiéra – 1. marca sa ňou v roku 1920 otváralo Slovenské národné divadlo.
 
Uvádzame pri príležitosti Roku českej hudby a 200. výročia narodenia Bedřicha Smetanu.
 
Dĺžka trvania predstavenia je orientačná, nakoľko ešte neprebehla generálna skúška.
