This energetic and theatrical performance features over 100 performers on stage with the OAE, with original music by James Redwood and excerpts from Dioclesian, by Henry Purcell.

The story, by Hazel Gould, takes place in a mysterious village whose inhabitants are bound by strict rules and regulations.

When a new teacher arrives there, she is surprised to discover the children have never seen the moon – they are forbidden from going out at night, for fear of being turned into a hare until daybreak.

What happens when the children begin breaking the rules, and start living as wild animals, exploring nature and the night
