“In addition to the Passions according to St. Matthew and according to St. John, Bach also composed a Passion according to St. Mark in 1731, created the same year, on a text by Picander. Unfortunately, only the booklet of this passion has reached us. The research and reconstruction work was extensive and, despite the heavy responsibility, I assumed the risk of proposing a new version.
