Tom Rakewell lives without understanding anything about life. And that is precisely why life holds many joys in store for him. But somewhere between the pub, the gambling den and the brothel he is losing his soul. In nine musical images, Stravinsky carries out an inexorable study of the career of the headless libertine until Tom finally makes a lonely, correct decision with which he amazes even the devil.
