"A musical comes home" - a musical with a heart returns home to its location in Salzburg. Maria loves the mountains, singing and dancing - and would like nothing more than to become a nun, but she is sent to the children of the widowed Captain von Trapp as a governess. There she conquers the hearts of the children in flight and thus also that of the master of the house...

The worldwide success of the musical has already seen more than a hundred performances at the original location in Salzburg and is now returning to the stage of the Landestheater. Once again Patrizia Unger and musical star Lukas Perman take on the leading roles.

The musical by Richard Rodgers (music), Oscar Hammerstein II (lyrics) and Howard Lindsay and Russel Crouse (book) premiered on November 16, 1959 at the Lunt-Fontanne Theater in New York. Based on the musical, the film of the same name was shot in 1965 with Julie Andrews, partly at the original locations in Salzburg - it has so far reached 1.2 billion viewers around the world.

The staging by Andreas Gergen and Christian Struppeck exceeded all expectations with its precise and affectionate handling of the characters and its kitsch-free approach and has long since achieved cult status.

Über hundert Vorstellungen hat der Musical-Welterfolg am Originalschauplatz Salzburg bereits erlebt und kehrt nun auf die Bühne des Landestheaters zurück. Erneut übernehmen Patrizia Unger und Musicalstar Lukas Perman die Hauptrollen.

Das Musical von Richard Rodgers (Musik), Oscar Hammerstein II. (Texte) und Howard Lindsay und Russel Crouse (Buch) wurde am 16. November 1959 im Lunt-Fontanne Theatre in New York uraufgeführt. Auf der Grundlage des Musicals wurde 1965 der gleichnamige Film mit Julie Andrews, teilweise an Salzburger Originalschauplätzen, gedreht – er erreichte bisher 1,2 Milliarden Zuschauer*innen in aller Welt.

Die Inszenierung von Andreas Gergen und Christian Struppeck hat in ihrer präzisen und liebevollen Personenführung und ihrem kitschfreien Zugriff alle Erwartungen übertroffen und ist längst Kult geworden.
