Дюймовочка Ханса Кристиана Андерсена входит не только в число самых читаемых и почитаемых детских сказок, но и в обойму наиболее популярных названий в театральном репертуаре для детей. Театр «Зазеркалье» тоже не смог остаться в стороне от этой волшебной истории, при этом прочёл ее как музыкальную сказку.

Автор мюзикла «Дюймовочка»— петербургский композитор Дмитрий Жученко, который умеет сочинять по-настоящему театральную музыку. Репертуар «Зазеркалья» уже несколько сезонов украшает один из любимейших юной публикой спектаклей – «Рикки-Тикки-Тави» с музыкой Дмитрия Жученко.

Наверняка современные дети и их родители смогут угадать подтексты, сокрытые и у Андерсена, и в самом спектакле. И тогда история Дюймовочки окажется не только поводом для весёлого времяпрепровождения в театре, но и пищей для размышлений. Крохотная хрупкая девочка – и обступивший ее большой, весьма грубый мир... Как не потерять себя, стать сильнее «среды»? Какое-то смутное осознание своего предназначения заставляет её бежать от жаб и жуков – её безудержно тянет ввысь, в небо: «Кажется — сделай усилье, и унесут меня крылья!». Что за бесценный дар – уметь прислушиваться к себе, и, несмотря на душные норы и топкие болота, идти к своей мечте... «Дюймовочка» в «Зазеркалье» – это не только музыкальная сказка, но и своеобразный урок сегодняшним детям: как не увязнуть в жизненной трясине и обрести собственные крылья.

Благодаря музыкальным и театральным чудесам появление Дюймовочки из цветка покажется зрителям настоящим волшебством. Острохарактерные роли сказочных насекомых, земноводных и всяческих других животных артисты театра играют с удовольствием и увлечением, внося в характеры своих персонажей изрядную долю юмора. «Дюймовочка» – это еще и настоящий парад музыкальных жанров: здесь есть Романс Жабы, Ария Крота, Марш Жука-офицера, Мазурка Стрекоз, Хор Рыбок...

В спектакле заняты ведущие молодые артисты театра.

“Thumbelina” by Hans Christian Andersen is not only one of the most read and revered children's fairy tales, but also one of the most popular titles in the theatrical repertoire for children. The Looking Glass Theater also could not stay away from this magical story, and at the same time read it as a musical fairy tale.

The author of the musical “Thumbelina” is St. Petersburg composer Dmitry Zhuchenko, who knows how to compose truly theatrical music. For several seasons now, the repertoire of “Through the Looking Glass” has been decorated with one of the most beloved performances by young audiences – “Rikki-Tikki-Tavi” with music by Dmitry Zhuchenko.

Surely modern children and their parents will be able to guess the subtexts hidden both in Andersen and in the play itself. And then the story of Thumbelina will turn out to be not only a reason for a fun time in the theater, but also food for thought. A tiny fragile girl - and a big, very rough world surrounding her... How not to lose yourself, to become stronger than the “environment”? Some vague awareness of her destiny makes her run away from toads and beetles - she is uncontrollably drawn upward, into the sky: “It seems that if you make an effort, wings will carry me away!” What an invaluable gift - to be able to listen to yourself, and, despite the stuffy holes and swampy swamps, to go towards your dream... “Thumbelina” in “Through the Looking Glass” is not only a musical fairy tale, but also a kind of lesson for today’s children: how not to get stuck in the quagmire of life and find your own wings.

Thanks to musical and theatrical miracles, the appearance of Thumbelina from a flower will seem like real magic to the audience. The theater artists play the poignant roles of fairy-tale insects, amphibians and all sorts of other animals with pleasure and enthusiasm, introducing a fair amount of humor into the characters. “Thumbelina” is also a real parade of musical genres: there is the Toad’s Romance, the Mole’s Aria, the March of the Officer Beetle, the Dragonfly Mazurka, the Fish Chorus...
