A Tosca az egyik legszebb és legelragadóbb mű az opera történetében. Lebilincselően izgalmas alkotás a szeretetről, harcról, féltékenységről.

A közönség számára a szenvedélyek izzásán felfutó katarzis, az énekeseknek művészi kiteljesedés. Az egyes karakterek a legnagyobb világsztárok szerepálmai, hisz tökéletes énekesi és színészi alakítást igényelnek.

 Történet középpontjában egy olyan nő áll, aki a szerelméért feláldozza önmagát, bosszút állva az őt ért igazságtalanságokért és hazugságokért. Megmutatja, hogy a szerelem erejével hogyan tud egy nő hű maradni önmagához és ahhoz, amiben mindenekfelett hisz.

A „Levél ária”, a „Vissi d’arte” az opera irodalom legnagyobb slágereivé lettek.

A művet Rómában mutatták be és Puccininek országos, majd nemzetközi ismertséget hozott, hiszen néhány éven belül a világ 60 nagyvárosában tűzték műsorra és a mai napig a modern repertoár egyik alapja.

Magyarországon 1903 óta tartja folyamatosan műsoron az Operaház.

A Margitszigeti Szabadtéri Színpad 2022-es Tosca produkciója igazi csemegének ígérkezik, hiszen Cavaradossi szerepére a világhírű tenort Francesco Melit sikerült megnyerni. A La Scala, a Metropolitan és a Covent Garden sztárja először lép fel Budapesten.

Toscaként, a szerep egyik legavatottabb formálója, a Kossuth-díjas Sümegi Eszter lép a közönség elé. Scarpia szerepében a Kossuth-díjas Kálmándy Mihályt hallhatjuk.

Tosca is one of the most beautiful and delightful works in the history of opera. An engagingly exciting work about love, struggle, and jealousy.

For the audience, it is catharsis fueled by the glow of passions, and for the singers, artistic fulfillment. The individual characters are the dream roles of the biggest world stars, as they require perfect singing and acting.

 At the heart of the story is a woman who sacrifices herself for her love, taking revenge for the injustices and lies that have been inflicted on her. It shows how, with the power of love, a woman can stay true to herself and what she believes in above all else.

"Letter aria" and "Vissi d'arte" became the biggest hits of opera literature.

The work was premiered in Rome and brought Puccini national and then international fame, as within a few years it was performed in 60 major cities around the world and is still one of the foundations of the modern repertoire.

In Hungary, the Opera House has been showing it continuously since 1903.

The 2022 production of Tosca at the Margitsziget Open-Air Stage promises to be a real treat, as the world-famous tenor Francesco Meli has been selected for the role of Cavaradossi. The star of La Scala, Metropolitan and Covent Garden is performing in Budapest for the first time.

As Tosca, one of the most experienced shapers of the role, the Kossuth Prize winner Eszter Sümegi will appear in front of the audience. Mihály Kálmándy, winner of the Kossuth Prize, plays the role of Scarpia.
