The incredibly beautiful “Transfigured Night” by Arnold Schönberg (arrangement for a string sextet) is one of the most remarkable works of late Romanticism. The uniquely expressive music was inspired by the love poems of the Austrian poet, Richard Dehmel. This one-part, but extensive string piece reflects five sections of the poem, incorporating a vision of a dark forest, a desperate confession, forgiveness, a lovers’ duet, and the glorifying ending – a transfigured night.

The performers are led by the violinist Florian Donderer (who is much loved in Estonia) and who is now working with the “ensemble of his dreams”.

Mozarti armastatud Sinfonia concertante viiulile, vioolale ja orkestrile saab keelpilliseksteti koosseisus eriliselt läbipaistva ja hõrgu ettekande. Mozarti ajal oli tavapärane, et publiku poolt soojalt vastuvõetud teosed said imekiirelt seaded kõikvõimalikele esituskoosseisudele, mis andis nii heliloojale kui ka kirjastajale võimaluse suurendada sissetulekut. Enamasti olid seaded mõeldud pigem koduseks musitseerimiseks, ent ajalugu tunneb paljusid seadeid, mis on saanud originaalist kuulsamaks.

Arnold Schönbergi ebamaiselt kaunis „Kirgastunud öö“ (seade keelpillisekstetile) on üks hilisromantismi tähelepanuväärsemaid teoseid. Erakordselt ekspressiivne muusika on inspireeritud Austria poeedi Richard Dehmeli armastusluuletusest. Üheosaline, kuid ulatuslik keelpilliteos peegeldab luuletuse viit lõiku: kujutlust tumedast metsast, ahastavat ülestunnistust, andeksandmist, armastajate duetti ning ülistavat lõppu – kirgastunud ööd.

Ettekande koosseisu juhendab Eestiski armastatud viiuldaja Florian Donderer, kellega koos mängib tema unistuste ansambel.
