Romance takes you in its arms in this evening of music inspired by lovers’ dances! It begins with a whirling danzón from Mexico and two daring, dangerous tangos from Argentina. At its heart is a Spanish masterwork for guitar and orchestra, alternating rhythms of flamenco with soaring, achingly beautiful orchestral passages—showcasing an internationally renowned guitarist hailed for his “virtuosic playing characterized by its vividly shaded colors and irresistible exuberance” (The New York Times). And to close this night of musical passion? The mesmerizing, irresistible tension and release of Ravel’s Bolero. Tonight, the language of love is Latin!
