The soprano Emmanuelle de Negri and Le Consort, led by the young and promising harpsichordist Justin Taylor, invite us to enjoy the delicate and poetic universe of French baroque cantata, a genre that reached its most splendid peak in the 18th century. The program is made up of works in the chamber format and very compact in their conception; sometimes they are only a few minutes long, but they are full of dramatic force and wherever they go, always flown over by that sweet and refined melancholy so and so French, love and lovelessness, tenderness and revenge , happiness and tragedy. Along with two of the great masters of the genre, such as Louis-Nicolas Clérambault and Michel Pignolet de Montéclair, we can also listen to the music of the much lesser-known Louis-Antoine Lefebvre - whose delightful aria of the opening cantatille, Les regrets ( Remorse), gives its name to the program — and the instrumental music of Jean-François Dandrieu.
