Since 2020, the spectacular development of our Orchestra and Choir has made it possible to perform this gigantic Mahler work, the 8th symphony, under the direction of a different excellent conductor every year, as a kind of rallying cry at the beginning of each season. The work was last performed in our country 13 years before our large-scale undertaking, which was performed here for the first time in 1983 (!), and since then it has been performed twice more by occasional associations of various art institutions. There is hardly a more suitable work than this huge symphony to start our orchestral series called Opera Total , from which almost every member of our many ensembles can take part.

Zenekarunk és Énekkarunk látványos fejlődése 2020 óta lehetővé teszi, hogy minden évad elején afféle erőgyűjtő fohászként elhangozhasson e gigantikus mahleri alkotás, a 8. szimfónia, minden évben más és más kiváló karmester irányításával. Nagyszabású vállalkozásunk előtt 13 évvel szólalt meg utoljára hazánkban a mű, amelyet első ízben 1983-ban (!) sikerült idehaza eljátszani, azóta még kétszer tudták megszólaltatni különböző művészeti intézmények alkalmi társulásai. Aligha van alkalmasabb mű ennél a hatalmas szimfóniánál, hogy elindítsuk Opera Total című zenekari sorozatunkat, amelyből a több együttesnyi zenészünk csaknem minden tagja kiveheti a részét.
