Founded in 2012, the Vision String Quartet has established itself as one of the finest string quartets of its generation. Endowed with a singular versatility that concentrates on the classical quartet repertoire, alongside their own compositions and arrangements of other genres, the four young musicians aim to present the quartet formation in a different and very special perspective. The characteristic of playing standing up and often from memory gives a freer and more intimate dynamic to the performances and is widely appreciated by audiences and critics.
2016 was a year of great achievements for the Vision String Quartet, who won first prize and all the special prizes at both the Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy Competition in Berlin and the International Competition in Geneva. At the end of 2016 the ensemble was awarded the prestigious Würth Prize and the Audience Award at the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Festival. In 2018 he was also awarded the prestigious chamber music prize of the Jürgen Ponto Foundation.
The Quartet experiments with innovative concert formats which it has brought to major concert halls, such as Gewandhaus in Leipzig, Tonhalle in Düsseldorf, Konzerthaus in Berlin, Philharmonie Luxembourg and major festivals, such as Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Rheingau Music Festival, Schleswig-Holstein, Heidelberg Frühling and Lucerne Festival.
The Quartet is artist-in-residence at the Bodensee Festival at Lake Constance, a position which sees them involved in the realization of various concerts with different programs including music by Bacewicz, Beethoven, Ravel, Schumann, Barber, Mendelssohn and, of course, their own compositions.
The Vision String Quartet studied in Berlin with the Artemis Quartett and in Madrid with Günter Pichler of the Alban Berg Quartett. He also studied with Heime Müller, Eberhardt Feltz and Gerhard Schulz and attended masterclasses at the Jeunesses Musicales, ProQuartet in France and at the Villa Musica Rheinland-Pfalz Foundation. Chamber partners include Jörg Widmann, Eckart Runge of the Artemis Quartett, Haiou Zhang, Edicson Ruiz, Avi Avital, Nils Mönkemeyer and the Quatuor les Dissonances.
He has collaborated on projects with renowned choreographer John Neumeier and worked with light designers, even playing in complete darkness, searching for a new creative dimension.
The Vision String Quartet is hosted for the first time by the Friends of Music of Florence.

Fondato nel 2012, il Vision String Quartet si è affermato come uno dei più raffinati quartetti d’archi della sua generazione. Dotati di una singolare versatilità che si concentra sul repertorio quartettistico classico, affiancato a proprie composizioni e arrangiamenti di altri generi, i quattro giovani musicisti mirano a presentare la formazione del quartetto in una prospettiva diversa e molto speciale. La caratteristica di suonare in piedi e, spesso, a memoria conferisce una dinamica più libera e intima alle esecuzioni ed è largamente apprezzata da pubblico e critica.
Il 2016 è stato un anno di grandi traguardi per il Vision String Quartet, che ha vinto il primo premio e tutti i premi speciali sia al Concorso Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy di Berlino sia al Concorso Internazionale di Ginevra. Alla fine del 2016 l’ensemble ha ricevuto il prestigioso Würth Prize e il premio del pubblico al Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Festival. Nel 2018 ha inoltre ricevuto il prestigioso premio per la musica da camera della Fondazione Jürgen Ponto.
