El tenor Freddie De Tommaso torna al Festival de Peralada després de debutar en la primera edició de Pasqua del festival empordanès. El jove cantant, nascut el 1993, ha anat guanyant l’aprovació i l’admiració, tant de la crítica com del públic, des que va arribar al món de l’òpera. Després de guanyar, el 2018, el Concurs Internacional de Cant Francesc Viñas, a la seva trajectòria, s’hi van sumant èxits, com el que va aconseguir quan es va posar en la pell de Cavaradossi en la producció de Tosca de la Royal Opera i així es va convertir en el tenor més jove de tots els temps a interpretar aquest paper en un escenari tan emblemàtic i el primer britànic a fer-ho des del 1963. La seva majestuosa veu de tenor líric spinto de poderosa projecció i de timbre ple d’harmònics, així com la seva passió i entrega en les interpretacions, l’han portat a debutar en alguns dels coliseus operístics més grans com la Scala de Milà, l’Òpera de Viena o la Royal Opera House. Acompanyat al piano per la directora d’orquestra Audrey Saint-Gil, el tenor italobritànic torna al Festival per oferir un poderós recital amb àries i cançons de Giuseppe Verdi. El programa, format per una selecció d’algunes de les àries més estimades del compositor italià, al costat d’obres verdianes més desconegudes pel gran públic, promet ser un dels punts més àlgids de l’estiu, i una parada obligada per als grans amants de la lírica i les grans veus.

The tenor Freddie De Tommaso returns to the Peralada Festival after making his debut in the first Easter edition of the festival in Emporda. The young singer, born in 1993, has been winning approval and admiration, both from critics and the public, since he arrived in the world of opera. After winning, in 2018, the Francesc Viñas International Singing Competition, successes have been added to his career, such as what he achieved when he took on the role of Cavaradossi in the Royal Opera's production of Tosca and so he became the youngest tenor ever to perform this role on such an iconic stage and the first Briton to do so since 1963. His majestic spinto lyric tenor voice of powerful projection and full timbre of harmonics, as well as his passion and dedication in interpretations, they have taken him to make his debut in some of the biggest operatic coliseums such as La Scala in Milan, the Vienna Opera or the Royal Opera House. Accompanied on the piano by conductor Audrey Saint-Gil, the Italo-British tenor returns to the Festival to offer a powerful recital of arias and songs by Giuseppe Verdi. The program, made up of a selection of some of the Italian composer's most beloved arias, alongside works by Verdi more unknown to the general public, promises to be one of the highlights of the summer, and a must-stop for the greats lovers of lyrics and great voices.
