"Wedding in Malinovka" is one of the most famous and beloved Soviet operettas, which has long been sold in quotations.

The popularity of "Weddings in Malinovka" increased a hundredfold after the release in 1967 of the film of the same name with actors Zoya Fedorova, Mikhail Pugovkin, Mikhail Vodyany, Yevgeny Lebedev and others loved by millions of viewers.

The action in the operetta takes place during the Civil War in the Ukrainian village of Malinovka. Tired of the hardships of wartime, the villagers are preparing to celebrate the wedding of the shepherd Andreyka with the beautiful Yarinka. But an unexpected raid on the village by the gang of the local ataman Gritian Tauride, who has long laid eyes on the girl, destroys the plans of the lovers. The girl is in danger, but suddenly the situation takes the most unexpected turn...   

At the Theater of Musical Comedy, the first production of "Wedding in Malinovka" took place on October 26, 1938. During the Great Patriotic War, to raise the spirits of Leningraders, this production was resumed in besieged Leningrad in March 1942, and exactly a year later, the artistic director of the theater, Nikolai Yanet, returned to this operetta again, creating a new version of the performance, which was held with great success on March 1. On the pages of the clavier, which has been preserved since then in the archives of the theater, there are notes made by musicians in besieged Leningrad: “Today I bought 275 grams of bread for 100 rubles.” It was on these notes that the team worked to show the musical fantasy "Wedding in Malinovka" as part of the first Russian open-air operetta festival "Operetta Park" in Gatchina in June 2017.

Presented only once near the walls of the Gatchina Palace, the musical fantasy was an extraordinary success with the audience and collected hundreds of enthusiastic reviews, proving that time-tested classics will always be relevant. And the catch phrases “Why am I so in love with you?”, “I would like such a job, so that there is less work” and “The power has changed again!” have not lost their sharpness in the 21st century.

The theater went to meet the audience and decided to include the play "Wedding in Malinovka", adapting it for its stage, into the repertoire of the new theatrical season.

Популярность «Свадьбы в Малиновке» увеличилась во сто крат после выхода на экраны в 1967 году одноименного фильма с любимыми миллионами зрителей актерами Зоей Фёдоровой, Михаилом Пуговкиным, Михаилом Водяным, Евгением Лебедевым и др.

Действие в оперетте разворачивается во время Гражданской войны в украинском селе Малиновка. Уставшие от тягот военного времени сельчане готовятся праздновать свадьбу пастуха Андрейки с красавицей Яринкой. Но неожиданный набег на село банды местного атамана Грициана Таврического, который давно положил на девушку глаз, разрушает планы влюбленных. Девушке грозит беда, но вдруг ситуация принимает самый неожиданный оборот...   

В Театре музыкальной комедии первая постановка «Свадьбы в Малиновке» состоялась 26 октября 1938 года. Во время Великой отечественной войны для поднятия духа ленинградцев эту постановку возобновили в блокадном Ленинграде в марте 1942 года, а  ровно через год художественный руководитель театра Николай Янет снова вернулся к этой оперетте, создав новую версию спектакля, которая с большим успехом прошла 1 марта. На страницах клавира, сохранившегося с тех пор в архиве театра, пометки, сделанные музыкантами в осажденном Ленинграде: «Сегодня купил 275 грамм хлеба за 100 рублей». Именно по этим нотам коллектив работал для показа музыкальной фантазии «Свадьба в Малиновке» в рамках первого российского фестиваля оперетты под открытым небом «Оперетта-парк» в Гатчине в июне 2017 года.

Представленная всего один раз у стен Гатчинского дворца музыкальная фантазия имела необыкновенный успех у зрителей и собрала сотни восторженных отзывов, доказав, что классика, проверенная временем, будет актуальна всегда. А крылатые фразы «Что я в тебя такой влюбленный?», «Мне бы такой работы, чтобы поменьше работы» и «Опять власть переменилась!» не потеряли своей остроты и в XXI веке.

Театр пошел навстречу зрителям и решил включить спектакль «Свадьба в Малиновке», адаптировав его для своей сцены, в репертуар нового театрального сезона.
