Because the island of Lummerland with its two mountains has become too small for four residents and the king, Lukas and the orphan Jim are forced to travel out into the wide world with the Emma locomotive. On their wondrous journey they discover new foreign lands, defy many dangers together and in the end save the princess Li Si from the clutches of the dragon lady Ms. Mahlzahn. The successful duo Elena Kats-Chernin and Susanne F. Wolf tell Michael Ende's well-known and popular story about Jim Knopf and his adventures with Lukas, the locomotive driver and his locomotive Emma, ​​in imaginative images, colorful orchestral sounds and sometimes sweeping, lively, sometimes dreamy-enchanted music numbers .
