L'Enfant et les sortilèges Ravel

Être un enfant, ce n’est pas toujours facile. Surtout quand il s’agit de choisir entre ce qu’on veut faire et ce qu’on doit faire. Les émotions se bousculent, les conséquences se multiplient et parfois, ça déborde. L’Enfant et les sortilèges de Ravel nous transporte au cœur de l’univers fantastique que devient la chambre à coucher d’un enfant mal poli et tapageur. Les objets qui l’entourent prennent vie sous ses yeux et lui en font voir de toutes les couleurs. La colère cède sa place à la peur, et la malice cède la sienne à la bienveillance.

Une fantaisie mise en scène par Sylvain Scott, avec l’Atelier lyrique de l’Opéra de Montréal et l’Orchestre de l’Agora, sous la direction de Nicolas Ellis. 

*Les représentations du 4 février en soirée et du 5 février en après-midi seront composées d'une première partie Le tombeau de couperin, d'une deuxième partie le cycle Schéhérazade et du programme principal L'Enfant et les sortilèges.

Being a kid isn't the easiest thing in the world. Especially when it comes to choosing between what you want to do and what you should do. Emotions get in the way, consequences multiply and sometimes things just spill out. Ravel's L'Enfant et les sortilèges takes us into the heart of the imaginary world that becomes the bedroom of a wicked and turbulent child. The objects around him come to life before his eyes to punish him for his behavior. Anger gives way to fear, and malice gives way to kindness.

A whimsical production directed by Sylvain Scott, with the Atelier lyrique de l'Opéra de Montréal and the Orchestre de l'Agora, conducted by Nicolas Ellis.
