“Moscow Virtuosi” presents a program for the whole family “Mozart and Salieri” and invites listeners to remember the legend about the composers, reflected in Pushkin’s “little tragedy”.
In the first part, some of the most famous symphonies of composers are performed. Guests of the concert can compare works and reflect on the extent of their talent.
The second part presents the opera “Mozart and Salieri” by Rimsky-Korsakov. This is a real theatrical performance, the heroes of which are two friends living in our time. One chose a career and social life, the second is a bohemian musician, not constrained by any boundaries. Both are successful, but in the soul of one, envy is born from realizing the talent of the other. Destructive envy, which Pushkin wrote about and which is so easy to imagine in our time.
At the conductor's stand is Arsenty Tkachenko, deputy artistic director of the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Russia, permanent guest conductor of the Moscow Virtuosi State Chamber Orchestra. He collaborated with famous soloists, including Alexander Gindin, Boris Berezovsky, Dmitry Masleev, Pavel Milyukov, Alexey Volodin, Alexander Knyazev, Alexey Melnikov, Konstantin Emelyanov, Ivan Bessonov and Polina Osetinskaya.
Bolshoi Theater soloists Yaroslav Abaimov (tenor) and Igor Podoplelov (baritone) perform with the orchestra. Choral episodes are performed by the Academic Big Choir “Masters of Choral Singing” (artistic director and chief conductor - Lev Kontorovich).
