Cette saison, au fil des opéras et concerts symphoniques programmés dans la grande salle, on découvre les jeunes et talentueux artistes du Lyon Opéra Studio : l’Italo-Allemande Giulia Scopelliti, la Sud-Africaine Thandiswa Mpongwana, le Britannique Robert Lewis, le Polonais Pawel Trojak et le Thaïlandais Pete Thanapat ! L’Opéra Underground les accueille pour une série de récitals avec piano à l’Amphi : l’occasion de les découvrir dans l’intimité du lieu, de la mélodie, de la chanson.

Passionnée par les langues, si elle n’était pas devenue chanteuse d’opéra elle aurait probablement été interprète ou enseignante. Son premier contact avec l’opéra a été la voix de Maria Callas dont elle écoutait les disques avec sa grand-mère lorsqu'elle était enfant. Elle a ensuite étudié le piano et réalisé plus tard que c’est à travers le chant qu'elle pouvait le mieux s’exprimer. L’opéra est un art intemporel. Les personnages et leurs conflits intimes, les histoires qui nous sont racontées, bien qu’écrites parfois il y a plusieurs centaines d’années, tout cela nous parle encore aujourd’hui.

This season, through the operas and symphonic concerts programmed in the main hall, we discover the young and talented artists of the Lyon Opéra Studio  : the Italian-German Giulia Scopelliti, the South African Thandiswa Mpongwana, the Briton Robert Lewis, the Polish Pawel Trojak and Thai Pete Thanapat! The Opéra Underground welcomes them for a series of recitals with piano at the Amphi: the opportunity to discover them in the intimacy of the place, the melody, the song.

Passionate about languages, if she hadn't become an opera singer she would probably have been a performer or a teacher. Her first contact with opera was the voice of Maria Callas, whose records she listened to with her grandmother when she was a child. She then studied the piano and later realized that it was through singing that she could best express herself. Opera is a timeless art. The characters and their intimate conflicts, the stories that are told to us, although sometimes written several hundred years ago, all of this still speaks to us today.
