Que se passe-t-il dans la tête d’une artiste lyrique lorsqu’on lui explique que la crise sanitaire ne permet pas de faire de grandes jauges, que ce soit pour le public ou pour les artistes sur scène?
Elle cogite, elle réfléchit à faire des petites formes, mais pas n’importe lesquelles, il faut que cela ait du sens et surtout une grande prestance… Diana Higbee, directrice artistique du festival, commence à rêver d’un Requiem de Mozart à 10 chanteurs et une pianiste sur scène !

 

Quoi de plus formidable pour la créativité que la contrainte ?
La Musique de Mozart est toujours théâtrale, même sa musique religieuse. Cette œuvre posthume est remplie de mystère : à sa mort, seules deux parties sont achevées, le reste n’est qu’une ébauche avec quelques indications… Héritant des dettes de son mari, Constance Mozart demande à Franz Xaver Süßmayr de terminer sa composition afin de pouvoir toucher l’argent de son mystérieux commanditaire.

What's more great for creativity than constraint?
Mozart's Music is always theatrical, even his religious music. This posthumous work is filled with mystery: at her death, only two parts were completed, the rest was only a sketch with a few indications... Inheriting her husband's debts, Constance Mozart asked Franz Xaver Süßmayr to finish his composition in order to to be able to receive the money from his mysterious sponsor.
