Since its establishment in 1994, the Roma Sinfonietta Association has carried out a wide and qualified musical organization and production activity without interruption with artistic programs open to the various genres and musical styles that populate our composite sound universe today: from the classical repertoire – symphonic and chamber music – to twentieth-century classics and contemporary ones, from baroque to sacred music, opera, from jazz to applied music for cinema and ethnic music, as well as chamber works and musical theater performances.

The objective that has always been pursued is the diffusion of music, in all its forms, to an ever wider audience, involving more and more young people and an audience less accustomed to the precious dimension of the live concert so that music becomes a fundamental part of everyone's cultural heritage.

The concerts are held today mainly in Rome, at the University of Rome Tor Vergata, but the Association, subsidized since its establishment by the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism, has organized Seasons at the Auditorium Conciliazione of Rome (Spring Seasons for the Province of Rome), the Quirino Theater, the Sistina Theater, the Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome, the Nymphaeum of Villa Giulia, the Flavio Vespasiano Theater in Rieti, the Water Garden of Villa Mondragone (Monteporzio Catone RM). Roma Sinfonietta has also carried out a considerable didactic activity by organizing courses in secondary schools and instrumental and vocal improvement courses both at Monte Terminillo (RI) and at Villa Mondragone.

Many internationally renowned artists and groups will be guests of our Seasons, such as: I Musici, the Bernini Quartet, the Rome Quartet, the Ars Trio of Rome, the Neri per Caso, the Girotto-Servillo-Mangalavite trio, the Bosso duo -Biondini, the KlezRoym, the Piazza Vittorio Orchestra, the Parco della Musica Jazz Orchestra, Elizabeth Norberg-Schulz, Susanna Rigacci, Mariella Devia, Franco Maggio Ormezowsky, Salvatore Accardo, Michele Campanella, Alexander Lonquich, Massimiliano Damerini, Alessandro Carbonare, Enrico Dindo, Sara Mingardo, Ambrogio Sparagna, Roberto Gatto, Ascanio Celestini, Gabriele Mirabassi, Enrico Pieranunzi, Maria Pia De Vito, Danilo Rea., Francesca Dego,Domenico Nordio Always attentive to the valorisation of new talents, Roma Sinfonietta has hosted in its Seasons young artists who then began a brilliant career, such as, among others, Jessica Pratt, Rosa Feola, Sergio Vitale, Gianluca Bocchino, Antonio Poli.

Also in the Auditorium of the Tor Vergata University Roma Sinfonietta has organized meetings with many songwriters such as Carmen Consoli, Renato Zero, Mariella Nava, Gino Paoli, Amedeo Minghi, Gianni Morandi.
Among the chamber works – that kind of musical theater that has inspired so many masterpieces of past centuries and of the present day – staged by Roma Sinfonietta we mention: Il Re Pastore by Mozart, Nina, o sia la pazza per amore by Giovanni Paisiello, The Combat of Tancredi and Clorinda by Claudio Monteverdi, The Last Adventurer by Lucio Gregoretti on a text by Bruno Cagli, The Gambler Husband and His Wife by Giuseppe Maria Orlandini, The Servant Mistress by G. Battista Pergolesi, The Little Chimney Sweep by Benjamin Britten , Marcello Panni's Hanjo, First the music and then the words by Antonio Salieri, Andante italiano alla belga by Lucio Gregoretti, The smart squirrel and The driving school by Nino Rota, all directed by Cesare Scarton.

The Association regularly collaborates with cultural institutions, public and private bodies, both Italian and foreign.
