Berkshire Opera Festival / Umsagnir

This past weekend the Berkshire Eagle published a preview of our upcoming free family concert. BOF's Artistic and Education Coordinator Geoffrey Larson was quoted as saying, “our idea behind this event is to give kids and their parents a companion and guide on this journey,” and that guide is "Giuseppe Grandini" himself. Grandini will introduce some of opera’s major composers and its main vocal types. Four singers and a pianist will present famous arias from seven characters, including Figaro from Rossini's The Barber of Seville, Violetta from Verdi's La Traviata, and Donna Elvira from Mozart's Don Giovanni.

For the first time in my experience, Dr. Caius dominated the first scene vocally; Lucas Levy’s powerful projection should qualify him for Slavic opera’s ‘leading character’ parts.
