Barcelona, SpainBorn in San Sebastian the spanish mezzosoprano Carmen Artaza began her musical education playing the violin at the Conservatorio Francisco Escudero and singing in the Choir Araoz Gazte. The young winner of the 58th edition of the „International singing competition Tenor Vinas“ mezzosoprano is currently studying with Prof. Michelle Breedt at the Hochschule für Musik und darstellende Kunst in Frankfurt. In January 2020, the mezzosprano won the 1st prize at the Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy Hochschulwettbewerb in Berlin. In 2018, she was winner of the 1st prize in the Luis Mariano International Competition in Spain and in 2016, Carmen won the special prize at the 45th international singing competition Junioren Bundeswettbewerb Gesang in Berlin.
