Simon Pauly war natürlich als Papageno der Liebling des Publikums, und das zu recht, Hyejin Lee gefiel gleichermaßen durch die zarte Stimme wie das prächtige Kostüm der Papagena.

La soprano, que afrontará importantes proyectos en 2024, obtuvo el reconocimiento del público y la crítica encarnando el papel de Kostelnicka en la ópera Jenufa de Leoš Janácek (1854-1928) que se representó en el Teatro de la Maestranza de Sevilla en febrero pasado. La prensa fue unánime en destacar el gran trabajo de esta producción, en general, y el de la soprano española, en particular, cosechando "un éxito arrebatador, rotundo y definitivo, con su inolvidable interpretación"; indicaron que su actuación fue "soberbia" y subrayaron su "inmenso talento" actoral, con "cambios de registro, agilidad, dominio escénico, y un alto voltaje" escalofriantes, que motivó la "respuesta de un público enfervorizado".

Schreker’s perfumed late romanticism pushes at the boundaries of tonality; it seduces and sickens, and leaves you feeling slightly sullied.

Tras la tumultuosa dimisión de su director artístico se levantaba el telón en Les Arts de Valencia un Don Carlo espléndido bajo la batuta siempre in crecendo de Ramón Tebar y la dirección escénica de Marco Arturo Marelli con un imponente Filippo II de Alexander Vinogradov que hizo sombra a un Plácido Domingo en momentos de poca brillantez.
