Elio Bucky

Elio Bucky is an opera stage director with an interdisciplinary background in performance, composition, and design. Their work celebrates plurality, truth, and innovation in the creative process. Elio is currently pursuing a master’s degree in opera directing at the Butler Opera Center. This fall, they directed a new production of Puccini’s La bohème, and Song Re-Imagined, a multimedia song recital featuring the music of Rachmaninoff, De Falla, and Ibert. In the spring, they design projections for Suor Angelica & Gianni Schicchi at Binghamton University and serve as the assistant director of Tan Dun’s Tea: A Mirror of Soul at BOC.
