Biography
Born in December 1994 near Modena, Erica Cortese is a young Italian mezzosoprano. She studied opera singing at Conservatorio “A. Boito” of Parma, under the guidance of mezzosoprano Adriana Cicogna. In 2018, she attended the Accademia del Belcanto “R. Celletti” of Martina Franca. Currently, she is completing her studies with soprano Raina Kabaivanska and mezzosoprano Viorica Cortez. In 2024, she will debut the title role of Carmen in the famous opera by G. Bizet at Kumamoto Prefectural Theater, in Japan. She sang the title role of Hänsel in Hänsel und Gretel by E. Humperdinck at Teatro Regio di Parma, the protagonist role of Leonora in Il Trionfo dell’Onore by A. Scarlatti in the 44th edition of Festival della Valle d’Itria, the role of Bersi in Andrea Chénier by U. Giordano at Teatro Ma
