Hayato Kamie graduated from Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music with honors. In 2011, he made his Italian debut at the Teatro Giuseppe Verdi (Busseto) as Count di Luna in "Il Trovatore" at the Verdi Festival, and in 2015, he became the first Japanese baritone to be selected for the title role in "Rigoletto" at the same festival. In Japan, he has appeared as a primo baritone in Nabucco, Rigoletto, Don Carlo, Pagliacci, Il Trovatore, and Il Trittico at the Tokyo Nikikai Opera Theatre, La Traviata and Rigoletto at the Fujiwara Opera, The Barber of Seville at the Nissay Theatre, Aida at the New National Theatre, and Aida at the Sapporo Art Theatre, all to great acclaim.
