Biografia
As "a sensually brilliant soprano, with an excellent vocal technique, and round and excitingly high notes…" Irina Simmes is celebrated on the operatic stage for her versatility and talent both as a singer and actor. Irina Simmes` most recent triumph was at the 2022 Tiroler Festspiele Erl where she debuted in the role of Sieglinde (Die Walküre), now makes her debut as Gutrune. For her Sieglinde, she was nominated for "Singer of the Year" ("Opernwelt") in 2022 and for the Österreichische Musiktheaterpreis 2023. Both staged by Brigitte Fassbaender. She joined the ensemble at Theater Dortmund from 2018-2021 where she sang several leading roles such as Lisa(Land des Lächelns) and Spontini's Amazily (Fernand Cortez). In 2018 she debuted as Queen of the Night (Die Zauberflöte) at the Theater Biel
