Jan Wouters

Belgian countertenor Jan Wouters started studying music (Oboe, piano, singing, solfège, composition and music history) at his local music academy in Herentals. At the age of 16 he continued his music studies at the secondary school Heilig-Graf (Music department) in Turnhout, amongst others in the singing class of Nele Geerinckx and Katrine Druyts. In 2013 he graduated with greatest distinction( Summa Cum Laude). Jan was a laureate at the Princess Christina Competition in ’s Hertogenbosch, Holland, and in November 2013 he became 1st Laureate and winner of the National Competition Belfius Classics in Brussels, Belgium.
