Jay also performs and composes with RISE Opera, an experimental project that explores human relationships to crises. Passionate about equity in opera and choir, Jay’s musical creations explore ways to make formal singing accessible to those who have been traditionally excluded from these spheres. Jay is Frederick Lowy Fellow at Concordia University, where they study vocal timbre and gender perception in the Deroche Laboratory for Hearing and Cognition.
