Having graduated from the Ecole des Beaux-Arts (Paris) and the Conservatoire d'Art Dramatique (Paris), he began his professional career alongside Robert Wilson in 1974. Takla performed and directed at LaMama Theater in New York from 1974 to 1976. In Brazil, Takla directed and produced over 100 theater, musical theater, and opera performances.
