Soprano Judith Hoffmann, who lives in Cologne, made her opera debut at the Wernigerode Castle Festival as Pamina in Mozart's Magic Flute. She was part of the ensemble at the Landesbühnen Sachsen for several seasons, after which she appeared as a guest artist at various theatres such as the Hanover State Opera, the Hagen Theatre, the Luisenburg Festival in Wunsiedel, the Felsenbühne Rathen and the Münster Theatre.

Her current opera repertoire includes roles such as: Elsa/Lohengrin/Wagner, Agathe/Freischütz/von Weber, Marie/Verkaufte Braut/ Smetana, Micaela/Carmen/Bizet, Csardasfürstin/Csardasfürstin/Kalman.

She has a busy concert schedule in Germany and abroad. Recently she has performed at the Muziekcentrum Enschede, the Kölner Philharmonie, the WDR Funkhaus Wallrafplatz (small broadcasting hall), the Konzertsaal deSingel Antwerpen, the Dresdner Zwingerkonzerte, the Ruhr-Triennale, the Bocchereini Auditorium Lucca/Italy, in the Marienbasilika Kevelaer, in the Dortmund Theatre/Foyer and in the Konzerthaus Dortmund as a soloist with various orchestras such as the Netherland Symphony Orchestra and the Northwest German Philharmonic Orchestra.

 Her extensive concert repertoire focuses on the great oratorio works of the 18th to 21th centuries and the art song works of the 19th to 21th centuries.

        Her recently realised individual song projects together with Nare Karoyan (pianist), Desar Sulejmani (pianist), Kolja Buhlmann (dramatist/author) and Martin Günther (dramaturge), such as the musical-literary programmes Alma Mahler und ihre strahlenden Satelliten, Schumann-eine ungewöhnliche Familie and other various Lied programmes, as well as the founding of the Liedfestival Ruhr in 2021 as artistic director together with Martin Günther (dramaturge/pianist), and the founding of the Ensemble Amounè (soprano/trumpet/organ) bear witness to her commitment to a lively dialogue between the arts.

 Regular projects in the field of contemporary music (works by Gordon Kampe, Anno Schreier, Marcus Schmickler) round off the versatile artist's activities; for example, she took part in a studio project by the Cologne composer Marcus Schmickler produced by WDR3.

        In the WDR3 radio play Preussen. Im. Kopf. by Tom Peuckert, directed by Jörg Schlüter, she can be heard as a singer and narrator.

        Judith Hoffmann is a prizewinner of the NRW State Competition for Opera and Operetta.
She received her artistic education (diploma) at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen with Prof Rachel Robins as well as in private studies and masterclasses with Brigitte Fassbaender, Prof Thomas Heyer, Barbara Hannigan, Olga Mykytenko and Kirsten Schötteldreier.

Ihr Operndebut gab die in Köln lebende Sopranistin Judith Hoffmann bei den Wernigeröder Schlossfestspielen als Pamina in Mozarts Zauberflöte. Für mehrere Spielzeiten zählte sie zum Ensemble der Landesbühnen Sachsen, danach führten sie Gastengagements an verschiedene Theater wie die Staatsoper Hannover, das Theater Hagen, den Luisenburgfestspielen Wunsiedel, die Felsenbühne Rathen, das Theater Münster.

Zu ihrem derzeitigen Opern-Repertoire gehören Partien wie: Elsa/Lohengrin/Wagner,  Agathe/Freischütz/von Weber, Marie/Verkaufte Braut/ Smetana, Micaela/Carmen/Bizet, Csardasfürstin/Csardasfürstin/Kalman.

        Sie verfolgt eine rege Konzerttätigkeit im In-und Ausland. In der letzten Zeit war sie im Muziekcentrum Enschede, in der Kölner Philharmonie, im WDR Funkhaus Wallrafplatz (kleiner Sendesaal), im Konzertsaal deSingel Antwerpen, den Dresdner Zwingerkonzerten, bei der Ruhr-Triennale, im Bocchereini Auditorium Lucca/Italien, in der Marienbasilika Kevelaer, im Theater Dortmund/Foyer und im Konzerthaus Dortmund als Solistin auch mit verschiedenen Orchestern wie dem Niederländischen Symphonieorchester und der Nordwestdeutschen Philharmonie zu hören.

        Schwerpunkte ihres umfangreichen Konzert-Repertoires bilden die großen oratorischen Werke des 18. bis 21. Jahrhunderts und das Kunstliedschaffen des 19. bis 21. Jahrhunderts.

        Ihre in jüngster Zeit verwirklichten individuellen Lied-Projekte gemeinsam mit Nare Karoyan (Pianistin), Desar Sulejmani (Pianist), Kolja Buhlmann (Dramatug/Autor) und Martin Günther (Dramaturg) wie etwa die musikalisch-literarischen Programme Alma Mahler und ihre strahlenden Satelliten, Schumann-eine ungewöhnliche Familie und weitere verschiedene Lied Programme, sowie 2021 die Gründung des Liedfestival Ruhr als künstlerische Leiterin gemeinsam mit Martin Günther (Dramaturg/Pianist), sowie die Gründung des Ensemble Amounè (Sopran/Trompete/Orgel) legen Zeugnis von ihrem Engagement für den lebendigen Dialog der Künste ab.

        Regelmäßige Projekte im Bereich der zeitgenössischen Musik (Werke von Gordon Kampe, Anno Schreier, Marcus Schmickler) runden die Tätigkeit der vielseitigen Künstlerin ab; so wirkte sie u.a. bei einem vom WDR3 produzierten Studioprojekt des Kölner Komponisten Marcus Schmickler mit.

        Im WDR3 Hörspiel Preussen. Im. Kopf. von Tom Peuckert, Regie: Jörg Schlüter, ist sie als Sängerin und Sprecherin zu erleben.

        Judith Hoffmann ist Preisträgerin des NRW Landeswettbewerbs im Bereich Oper- und Operette.

Ihre künstlerische Ausbildung (Diplom) erhielt sie an der Folkwang Universität der Künste Essen bei Prof. Rachel Robins sowie im Rahmen privater Studien und Meisterkurse bei Brigitte Fassbaender, Prof. Thomas Heyer, Barbara Hannigan, Olga Mykytenko und Kirsten Schötteldreier.
