Jure Počkaj performs one of the shortest Mozart's arias Fin ch'han dal vino, just shy of two minutes but nonetheless the key to understanding Don Giovanni's inexhaustible energy, his taste for revelry, and his flair for seducing. Right from the first note, following a constant crescendo all the way to the big finale, Jure finishes off the aria with strength and power, erupting in vicious laughter.

Synopsis: As Don Giovanni arrives at his palace, with the peasants awaiting the wedding festivities of Masetto and Zerlina inside, he declares that this shall be a night, marked by an incredible party with much wine and many women.

Jure Počkaj - Fin ch'han dal vino, Don Giovanni's Champagne aria

Jure Počkaj performs the aria Pozdrav Domovini (Hail to the Homeland) at the Statehood Day on the 24th of June in Ljubljana. This is the moment when Bogomil returns victorious from the Crusades and declares: 
"God accept our Slovenian soil! God accept my homeland! Here you have your son, who has woven your wreaths of glory..."


The protagonist of the first Slovenian singspiel is Bogomil, the adopted son of the Cave Knight, who grows up together with the castle's daughter Ivanka. With his courage, family devotion and deep love for his chosen one, Bogomil  finds his voice again, 170 years later through Jure Počkaj, internationally acclaimed baritone who grew up in the same region as Bogomil and Ivanka and breathes new life into the opera. Mr. Počkaj boasts an enviable opus of main baritone roles and was overjoyed when he realized that there was such an inspiring and powerful baritone role in the Slovenian operatic repertoire. The role of Bogomil personally means a lot to him.”
