Biografia
Scottish mezzo-soprano Katie Coventry starts the 2021/22 season with her debut at Reisopera in the role of Sesto in Giulio Cesare; a production that then transfers to the Handelfestspiele Gottingen. Later this season, Katie makes her delayed debut with the Hallé Orchestra as Kate Pinkerton in Madame Butterfly. Last summer, Katie returned to Glyndebourne Festival Opera in both Rossini’s Il Turco in Italia as Zaida (cover) and Cosi fan Tutte as cover Dorabella. She also made her debut with Waterperry Opera as Hansel in Humperdinck’s Hansel and Gretel. In summer 2020, Katie returned to the Salzburg Festspiele singing the role of the second maid in Strauss’s Elektra under the direction of Krzysztof Warlikowski and baton of Franz Welser-Möst.
