6The real protagonist of the opera is Aroldo’s adulterous wife, Mina, and Lidia Fridman was the star of this performance. She sang spledindly, her chest register especially striking, and acted with great nobility. She is dramatic soprano who could have a very notable future.
La joven soprano rusa Lidia Fridman deslumbró en el difícil papel de Mina: belleza de voz, impresionantes agudos y capacidad expresiva. De entre sus muchos momentos de gran calidad podríamos destacar "Ciel, ch’io respiri!" y "Oh! cielo dove son io?". Era su primera incursión en el repertorio verdiano, lo cual parece asombroso, dados los resultados; y pienso que, a la luz de lo escuchado, Fridman lo tiene todo para ser una de las grandes sopranos del panorama internacional.
