Biography
Polish soprano Marcelina Román comes from a musical family. She began her singing and music education as a cellist, played piano and bassoon, then obtained her PhD in music from the Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Wrocław. She made her professional opera debut as Violetta in “La Traviata” by G. Verdi and was a winner of the Jan Kiepura Award for “Debut of the year”. Marcelina is a laureate and winner of more than 20 prizes at international competitions such as: I International Eva Marton Singing Competition, Hungary (2014), The International Vocal Competition IVC ‘s-Hertogenbosch (2014), The Jāzeps Vītols International Vocal Competition in Latvia (2015).
