7Die Kinderoper Köln feiert in diesem Jahr ihr 25-jähriges Bestehen. Die Kölner Verkehrsbetriebe KVB haben zu diesem Anlass eine entsprechend gestaltete Straßenbahn in Betrieb genommen. Mit altersgerechten Opernproduktionen, zum Teil als Kinderoper komponiert („Der Teufel mit den drei goldenen Haaren“ für Kinder ab vier Jahren), zum Teil als kindgerecht gekürzte und arrangierte Opern des Kernrepertoires locken die Theaterpädagog*innen der Kölner Oper, Dirigent Rainer Mühlbach, Regisseurin Brigitta Gillessen und das Internationale Opernstudio der Oper Köln Kinder und ihre Familien in die Oper. Höhepunkt der 25-jährigen Erfolgsgeschichte ist der im Frühjahr 2021 mit der „Götterdämmerung“ vollendete „Ring“ für Kinder ab 8 Jahren.

"Cardillac" Hindemitha w reżyserii Mariusza Trelińskiego to triumf muzyki, stawiającej wysokie wymagania słuchaczowi, oraz polskich śpiewaków (...) Druga radosna wiadomość wiąże się z obsadą „Cardillaca". Nie trzeba było sprowadzać zagranicznych wykonawców, aby ta opera z trudnymi partiami wokalnymi i wymagająca świetnej dykcji w języku niemieckim mogła zostać świetnie wykonana na polskiej scenie. W obsadzie nie było słabych punktów, co jest ważne, ponieważ „Cardillac" jest operą zespołową, od wszystkich wymaga kunsztu. Świetnie zabrzmiały więc głosy Wojciecha Parchema (Młody) (...)
W roli Oficera (w inscenizacji Trelińskiego: Młodego) wystąpił Wojciech Parchem, który próbował nie tylko oddać wyrywność chłystka-anarchisty, lecz także pewnie wykonywał wszystkie mordercze dźwięki tej tenorowej partii.
… Sein Ziehvater Mime ist Paul McNamara, schwerer Heldentenor in Würzburg und anderswo, der beispielsweise schon jede Menge Tannhäusers hinter sich hat. Er klingt für einen Mime überraschend dunkel – was bemerkenswert gut zur Figur passt, die er mit charmantem, aber nicht zu niedlichem Spiel zu einer Art antagonistischem Sympathieträger aufwertet.
Gesungen wird durch die Bank ausgezeichnet: Martin Koch als strahlender Siegfried, Paul McNamara als bösartig-meckernder Mime, Insik Choi als würdevoll-resignativer Wotan, Vincenzo Neri als Alberich, Florian Köfler als Fafner und Jessica Stavros als Brünnhilde – sie alle geben darstellerisch wie stimmlich ihr Bestes. Das ist, ohne jede Anspruchsermäßigung, im Kleinen große Oper.
