About us

Welcome to OperUs Music Academy, founded in 2022 to coach, inspire and support the music talent of the future. We have dedicated young professionals' and juniors' sections, offering training all the way from first lessons to career development and role debuts. We also run a variety of online courses, lessons and seminars to make our community accessible to musicians all over the world. 

 

OperUs runs all its activities bilingually (Italian/English) and offers both year-round courses and seasonal intensive programs on music and related disciplines, collaborating with prestigious institutions including the Royal Academy of Music, London, the agency Promethean Artists Management, San Francisco, Music Theatre International (the European representatives for Broadway Jr and Disney Jr, whose shows we produce with our Junior performers), the Orchestra Filarmonica del Teatro Verdi di Trieste, the Teatro Miela, Trieste and the American music publication OperaWire, as well as with internationally celebrated artists such as baritone Luca Pisaroni, pianist Vincenzo Scalera, maestro repetiteur of Teatro alla Scala di Milano since 1980, soprano Barbara Frittoli and contralto Sonia Prina.

OperUs is Trieste's only official examination center for ABRSM (The Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music), respected worldwide as one of the top providers of music exams and qualifications. Each year, more than 630 000 candidates take ABRSM exams in over 90 countries around the world and we are proud to be part of the ABRSM family!

OperUs manages all our activities sincerely committed to inclusivity, celebrating and uplifting diversity. Accessibility is also extremely important in our philosophy therefore we created an allocation of funding for bursaries and scholarships to allow attendance by students from disadvantaged backgrounds. Other outreach projects include working with a seniors' choir and promoting the talents and welfare of LGBT+ artists.
