„Eine musikalisch grandiose Lucia di Lammermoor ist derzeit in Osnabrück zu erleben. Sophia Theodorides präsentiert dem Osnabrücker Publikum dabei eine intensive Interpretation der Titelfigur auf Weltklasseniveau. [...] Und da ist vor allem wieder sie, Lucia, die Lichtgestalt, die in Sophia Theodorides eine temperamentvolle Interpretin findet, aus der scheinbar mühelos halsbrecherische Koloraturen strömen und die höchste Höhen zeigt. Dabei spielt sie hervorragend die zutiefst verzweifelte Frau, legt deren Innenleben offen und berührt durch ihr intensives Spiel ebenso wie durch ihren betörenden Gesang. Ich kann das völlig nachvollziehen, ist doch der Abend musikalisch Belcanto vom Allerfeinsten mit Sophia Theodorides als exzeptioneller Interpretin der Titelfigur.“

Sopranistin Sophia Theodorides legt in der Titelrolle ein Traumdebüt hin, die berühmte Wahnsinnsarie stemmte sie nicht als Competition, sondern hauchte ihr Leben ein, modellierte Töne, dass es beim Hören und Sehen kollektiv den Atem raubte. [...] Die Zügel fest in der Hand hat die unglaubliche Sophia Theodorides, die ihre Energie punktgenau einsetzt. Rasche Tonsprünge zwischen hohem und tiefem Stimmregister erfordern eine virtuose Koloratur-Technik. Feinfühligkeit, Zartheit und Zerbrechlichkeit - all das wird erlebbar.[...] Man spürte förmlich das gute Gefühl der Besucher, dass so eine Qualität in Osnabrück möglich ist. [...] I giovani solisti ne sembravano irretiti, anche perché guidati dal giovane regista a una lettura al di fuori di cliché ingessati: per Catalano, il pancione Falstaff è un divo del rock, decaduto, anziano, ma ancora con quegli anelli alle dita e il cappotto di pelle, da star maledetta. E soprattutto con i gesti, i saltelli e la disincantata fedeltà a un mondo che non c'è più, e che lui tenacemente continua a vivere. Tutto è sogno? Forse. Ma la maglietta con la faccia di Shakespeare è un invito a rileggerlo.
