The Catalan composer Francisco Valls, a contemporary of Johann Sebastian Bach, experimented with sound combinations and, like Bach himself, was a master of counterpoint. His musical artifices were considered revolutionary at the time and sometimes sound as if he had time-travelled into the future.

With their discovery of Francisco Valls, the multi-award-winning ensemble BachWerkVokal under the direction of Gordon Safari take their Baroque Festival audience on an excursion to innovative Baroque sounds that in their own time were literally unheard-of
