BEETHOVEN SYMPHONY NO. 7: Concert Various

Feel the wild abandon of Beethoven’s Seventh Symphony—“the apotheosis of the dance itself,” Wagner called it. It fairly whirls with exuberance and energy when H+H musicians perform it with more than 200 years of cobwebs swept off the score. Václav Luks, artistic director of Prague’s Collegium 1704, pairs it with the H+H premiere of Czech composer Jan Vaclav Voříšek’s only symphony. A friend of Beethoven and Schubert, Voříšek’s symphony is a fusion of both.  Plus, the spirited introduction to an operatic love triangle by the prodigiously gifted Joseph Bologne, Chevalier de Saint-Georges.
