COSI FAN TUTTE – TAKOVÉ JSOU VŠECHNY

The last premiere of the opera ensemble will be WA Mozart's opera Cosi fan tutte on June 22, 2014o sia La Scola degli Amanti - Such are they all, or the School of Lovers. The very name of the opera hints at the main themes of this two-act opera, the subject of which was allegedly a real love affair that offended and probably amused Emperor Joseph II. so much so that he commissioned Da Ponte to write a libretto that would draw on this humorous and even grotesque incident. Mozart composed the commissioned opera primarily in the last quarter of 1789, and it was completed in January of the following year, when it also began rehearsals at the Court Theater in Vienna. After the premiere, there were 4 reruns and due to the national mourning for the deceased Emperor Joseph II. there were other performances only in the summer months. Cosi fan tutte is one of Mozart's top operas, but due to the weaker libretto, which was already criticized after the premiere, it remains behind Don Giovanni in the number of reruns. The Marriage of Figaro and The Magic Flute. Even so, the arias and ensembles are among the best opera "hits" of all time, and their thoughtful dramaturgy as a whole makes Cosi fan tutte a beautiful jewel of the opera repertoire.

Mozart's genius gave this frivolous disguise opera buffa another dimension - lyrical moments with an accent of seriousness. I am fascinated by the longevity of this perception. (You hear about a lover hidden in a closet, etc. - you laugh. If you yourself are one of the actors in such a situation, you are certainly not laughing.) Mozart's grasp of the subject is an inspiration for the development of themes - the relativity of oaths, temptations of fidelity, curiosity and bitter knowledge, men's and women's different view of morality, passion, desire, age-exaggerated sensuality of women, swapping partners and more. The production should reflect the changing and unstable emotions that give rise to playful, slightly erotic, but also sarcastically funny situations with lyricism and the seriousness of the human need for love, and as an operatic comedy it should above all entertain.

In the opera Cosi fan tutte, two young men are persuaded by their older and more experienced friend to test the fidelity of their partners. They fictitiously set sail for their military regiment, only to return as two exotic dudes each seducing the other's partner. They conduct a bold and also indecent and dangerous experiment not only with their partners' feelings, but also with their own. Temptation, pride and endless curiosity confuse the heads of absolutely all the actors of this farce, which is managed by their friend with the help of the bribed maid of both
girls.

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (January 27, 1756, Salzburg - December 5, 1791, Vienna), classical music composer, piano virtuoso, brilliant musician who composed 626 works of a secular and spiritual nature. In his childhood he gave concerts all over Europe. When he left his position as court composer in Salzburg, he could no longer find a permanent paid position. He did not want to serve as a footman to aristocratic society and wished to remain a free artist.

We present the opera in the Czech language. The author of the poetic translation is the singer-songwriter, lyricist and music composer Jaromír Nohavica, who has already performed in several opera houses in the role of translator and creator of the new text of the libretto. The libretto was given a contemporary language, a more popular setting and Czech names of the characters, which gives the comedy opera buffa a touch of today.

Poslední premiérou operního souboru bude 22. června 2014 opera W. A. Mozarta Cosi fan tutte o sia La Scola degli Amanti – Takové jsou všechny aneb Škola milenců. Samotný název opery napovídá hlavní témata této dvouaktové opery, jejímž námětem byla údajně skutečná milostná aféra, která pohoršila a asi i pobavila císaře Josefa II. natolik, že pověřil Da Ponteho napsáním libreta, jež by čerpalo právě z této humorné až groteskní příhody. Mozart komponoval operu na zakázku především v posledním čtvrtletí roku 1789 a dokončena byla v lednu následujícího roku, kdy se ve Dvorním divadle ve Vídni také začala zkoušet. Po premiéře se uskutečnily 4 reprízy a z důvodu státního smutku za zemřelého císaře Josefa II. byla další představení až v letních měsících. Cosi fan tutte patří mezi vrcholné Mozartovy opery, ale z důvodu slabšího libreta, které bylo už po premiéře kritizováno, zůstává v počtu repríz za Donem Giovannim, Figarovou svatbou a Kouzelnou flétnou. I tak patří árie a ansámbly mezi nejlepší operní „hity“ všech dob a jejich promyšlená dramaturgie v rámci celku činí z Cosi fan tutte krásný šperk operního repertoáru.

Mozartova genialita dala této lehkovážné převlekové opeře buffa další rozměr – lyrické momenty s akcentem vážnosti. Fascinuje mě životnost tohoto nazírání. (Slyšíte o milenci schovaném ve skříni atd. – smějete se. Jste-li vy sami jedním z aktérů takové situace, tak vám do smíchu určitě není.) Mozartovo uchopení námětu je inspirací pro rozvinutí témat – relativita přísah, pokoušení věrnosti, zvědavost a hořké poznání, rozdílný pohled mužů a žen na morálku, vášeň, touhu, věky zveličovaná smyslnost žen, záměna partnerů a další. Inscenace by měla zrcadlit proměnlivé a nestálé emoce, které dávají vzniknout hravým, lehce erotickým, ale i sarkasticky úsměvným situacím s lyrikou a vážností lidské potřeby lásky a jako operní komedie by měla především pobavit.

V opeře Cosi fan tutte se dva mladíci nechají přemluvit svým starším a zkušenějším kamarádem ke zkoušce věrnosti svých partnerek. Fiktivně odplouvají za svým vojenským plukem, aby se vzápětí vrátili jako dva exotičtí frajeři a sváděli každý partnerku toho druhého. Provádějí odvážný a také neslušný i nebezpečný experiment nejen s city svých partnerek, ale také se svými vlastními. Pokoušení, pýcha a nekonečná zvědavost zamotá hlavu naprosto všem aktérům této frašky, kterou řídí jejich přítel za pomoci úplatné služebné obou
dívek.

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (27. ledna 1756, Salzburg – 5. prosince 1791, Vídeň), hudební skladatel klasicismu, klavírní virtuos, geniální hudebník, který složil 626 děl světského i duchovního charakteru. Ve svém dětství koncertoval po celé Evropě. Když opustil pozici dvorního skladatele v Salzburgu, nenalezl již stálé placené místo. Nechtěl sloužit jako lokaj aristokratické společnosti a přál si zůstat svobodným umělcem.

Operu uvádíme v českém jazyce. Autorem básnického překladu je písničkář, textař a hudební skladatel Jaromír Nohavica, který se v roli překladatele a tvůrce nového textu libreta představil již v několika operních domech. Libreto dostalo současný jazyk, lidovější zasazení a česká jména postav, což nahrává komediální opeře buffa s nádechem dnešní doby.
