To this day, the work Gypsy Baron belongs to the mainstays of the world's operetta sky. It overflows with what author Johann Strauss Jr. he ruled the most - sparkling music and a colorful symphonic score with easy - to - remember melodies. However, to think that it was a light song would be a big mistake: the composer composed the Gypsy Baron as a comic opera and considered this work, one of his last, to be a work that will undoubtedly lead to a further rise in his invention. A quality libretto combined with great musical processing was an immediate success. Strauss was fascinated by Mór Jókai Saffi's novel and agreed with him to set it to music. This gave birth to a work that became immortal. For the new production of The Gypsy Barona new, modern re-poem into the Slovak language was created at the State Opera, created by Juraj Soviar.
