After the charming musical coordination by the composer J. Strauss himself of the absolute premiere on April 5, 1874, the operetta Liliacul continued to exude humor and an incomparable joie de vivre on the occasion of each new performance. The Viennese composer's charm also drew praise from contemporary composers such as Johannes Brahms, who is said to have never missed a performance of the operetta, with Gustav Mahler also bringing distinction and compliments to Strauss's waltzes, referring to the "uniqueness and inventiveness their delightful".

Stepping into the story of the operetta, the sumptuous masquerade ball comes to life, illuminating the court of the Russian prince and providing the perfect setting for the spicy intersection of characters in their various guises: the wealthy bourgeois couple with marital problems, the wife's maid and her demanding sister, a wise and upright jailer. They all embark on a journey full of humor and symbols - starting in the dance hall and ending in prison - which offers various opportunities for pranks and humor, but also for honest emotions and a surprisingly realistic outlook on life, sprinkled with laughs and plenty of champagne.

The bat is undoubtedly the most loved, glittering and awaited spectacle that heralds New Year's Eve each year. The creation of J. Strauss son has been enjoyed as a lyrical New Year's tradition for decades, in opera houses around the world, always returning with the same joy, electrifying atmosphere and full of laughter, in a delightful, unforgettable show!

După șarmanta coordonare muzicală realizată de însuși compozitorul J. Strauss a premierei absolute din 5 aprilie 1874, opereta Liliacul a continuat să emane umor și o inegalabilă joie de vivre cu ocazia fiecărei noi reprezentații. Farmecul compozitorului vienez a generat aprecieri și din partea compozitorilor contemporani precum Johannes Brahms, despre care se spune că nu a ratat nicio reprezentație a operetei, Gustav Mahler aducând, de asemenea, distincție și complimente valsurilor lui Strauss, referindu-se la „unicitatea și inventivitatea lor încântătoare”.

Pășind în povestea operetei, somptuosul bal mascat prinde viață, luminând curtea prințului rus și reprezentând cadrul perfect pentru intersecția picantă a personajelor sub diversele lor deghizări: bogatul cuplu burghez cu probleme în căsnicie, servitoarea soției și sora ei pretențioasă, un temnicer sfătos și vertical. Cu toții pornesc într-o călătorie plină de umor și simboluri – începută în salonul de dans și încheiată la închisoare –, care prilejuiește felurite oportunități pentru farse și umor, dar și pentru emoții sincere și o perspectivă surprinzător de realistă asupra vieții, presărată cu râsete și șampanie din abundență.

Liliacul este, fără îndoială, cel mai îndrăgit, strălucitor și așteptat spectacol ce anunță Revelionul fiecărui an. Creația lui J. Strauss fiul este savurată precum o tradiție lirică a Anului Nou de decenii, în teatre de operă din întreaga lume, revenind mereu cu aceeași veselie, atmosferă electrizantă și plină de haz, într-un spectacol încântător, de neuitat!
