Mozart's ultimate opera, The Magic Flute  is the most astonishing of all for its mixture of genres and styles, from fantastic tale to philosophical fable, from Viennese comedy to virtuoso opera. It is the story of Tamino, a young foreign prince who, on the orders of the Queen of the Night, ventures into the kingdom of the mysterious Sarastro and faces terrible trials for the love of Pamina. It is also the story of Papageno, a mischievous bird catcher who only dreams of eating, drinking and… finding his Papagena!

In this new production, Eric Perez's lively staging highlights the magical aspect of opera and the youth of the characters by projecting them into a playful universe with acid colors. Imbued with a twirling lightness, Amadeus' masterpiece, whose spoken parts have been translated into French, becomes an initiatory tale, served by the vocal and scenic performances of a fine cast of young singers. Something to delight all generations!

Ultime opéra de Mozart, La Flûte enchantée est le plus étonnant de tous par son mélange des genres et des styles, du conte fantastique à la fable philosophique, de la comédie viennoise à l’opéra virtuose. C’est l’histoire de Tamino, jeune prince étranger qui, sur les injonctions de la Reine de la Nuit, s’aventure dans le royaume du mystérieux Sarastro et se confronte à de terribles épreuves pour l’amour de Pamina. C’est aussi l’histoire de Papageno, oiseleur facétieux qui ne rêve que de manger, boire et… trouver sa Papagena !

Dans cette nouvelle production, la mise en scène enlevée d’ Eric Perez met en avant l’aspect féérique de l’opéra et la jeunesse des personnages en les projetant dans un univers ludique aux couleurs acidulées. Empreint d’une légèreté virevoltante, le chef d’oeuvre d’Amadeus, dont les parties parlées ont été traduites en français, devient un conte initiatique, servi par les performances vocales et scéniques d’une belle distribution de jeunes chanteurs. De quoi réjouir toutes les générations !
