C’est peu dire que ces deux-là, l’organiste, claveciniste et chef d’orchestre Louis-Noël Bestion de Camboulas et la soprano Véronique Gens cultivent depuis longtemps un goût affirmé pour la musique française du XVIIe siècle.  Le premier baigne dedans depuis son plus jeune âge et la seconde l’a fait triompher sur toutes les grandes scènes lyriques. Leur complicité est récente (un premier concert autour de la tragédie lyrique à Ambronay en 2018) mais des plus harmonieuses. Ce sera un délice de les voir ensemble ce soir pour ce programme réunissant des grands airs extraits d’opéras et des suites de danses parmi les plus beaux du grand siècle français. Les excellents instrumentistes du bien nommé Ensemble Les Surprises devraient, selon leurs habitudes, accompagner avec fougue et énergie notre grande tragédienne nationale.

It is an understatement to say that these two, the organist, harpsichordist and conductor Louis-Noël Bestion de Camboulas and the soprano Véronique Gens have long cultivated a strong taste for 17th century French music .century. The first bathed in it from an early age and the second made him triumph on all the great lyrical stages. Their complicity is recent (a first concert around lyrical tragedy in Ambronay in 2018) but very harmonious. It will be a delight to see them together this evening for this program bringing together great arias from operas and some of the most beautiful dance suites of the great French century.
