One of the important evenings of the Slavic season is the concert in May, which summarizes Slavic romanticism through the usual and expected grandeur of OPERA through the revival of one great work and several artists whose full-length statues stand on the front of the Ybl Palace. Despite this, Smetana's famous opera was performed for the last time by the Hungarian State Opera House in 1976, and now a bravura overture breaks the silence of the auditorium. Moniuszko, the Archangel of the Poles, whose main work Halka played at the Opera House 66 years ago, is also quoted in the program. Zajc, the Croatian national composer, brought his Zrínyi opera here seven years ago during a guest performance. Erkel Brankovicsa is also connected to Croatian history and culture, and even features a Croatian dance. One of the most important Slovak authors, Suchoň, will also be featured in the program.

A Szláv szezon egyik fontos estéje az a májusi hangverseny, amely az OPERA megszokott és el is várt nagyszabásúsága révén foglalja össze a szláv romantikát egy-egy nagy alkotás felelevenítésén és több olyan alkotón keresztül, akiknek egész alakos szobrai az Ybl palota ormán állnak. Ennek ellenére Smetana híres operáját 1976-ban játszotta utoljára a Magyar Állami Operaház, most egy bravúros nyitány töri fel a nézőtér csendjét. Moniuszko, a lengyelek Erkele, fő műve az Operaházban 66 éve játszott Halka, ebből is idéz a program. Zajc a horvátok nemzeti komponistája, Zrínyi-operáját hét esztendeje hozták el ide egy vendégjáték során. Erkel Brankovicsa ugyancsak a horvát történelemhez és kultúrához köthető, még horvát tánctétel is szerepel benne. A műsoron helyet kap a szlovákok egyik legfontosabb szerzője, Suchoň is. Dvořák pedig a csehek (és szlovákok) nemzeti szerzője, akinek Amerikában írott igen népszerű szimfóniája újabb távlatokat ad a mai geopolitikai helyzetnek, ugyanakkor csodálatos zenemű is.
