When Parisian audiences were fascinated by opera performances in the first half of the 19th century, the Frenchman Hector Berlioz, with his unique view of instrumental music, was considered special - and at the same time a visionary and a role model for future generations of composers. The greatly increased performing apparatus, the specific treatment of orchestral instruments to which composers had paid little attention until then, the expansion of the range of established forms - all this marked his Faust's doom, extensive vocal-instrumental work on the price of the human soul, following Johann Wolfgang von Goethe's book . The famous military march, gentle love tunes, ecstatic anthems and beer songs will be performed by a united ensemble of the best Slovenian choirs andThe Slovenian Philharmonic Orchestra and the conductor's baton will be played by one of the most esteemed and admired conductors, Charles Dutoit. Renowned French mezzo-soprano Sophie Koch will play the role of the innocent Marjetica, one of the best tenors of her generation , Jean-François Borras, will portray the seeking Faust, and the seductive Mephisto will be played by the charismatic Canadian bass baritone John Relye and Englishman Brabarit
