The fairy tale sparks the childish spirit that is about to come to consciousness. The experience provided by fairy tales has a lifelong effect, shapes the spirit, shows the way, conveys eternal human values, and along these lines offers solutions that help us in our decisions even in adulthood. If such a fairy tale - which happens to be a Grimm - finds a composer like Humperdinck, whom Gustav Mahler himself considered a master of perfect music and editing, then it can be certain that a masterpiece will be born. Jancsi and Juliska is such a romantic-post-romantic masterpiece.

This wonderful fairy tale opera is for children. It impresses not only with its magically beautiful world of melody and harmony, but also with the perfection with which it fits all this into the world of the childish soul, Grimm's fairy tales and stage presence.

In the performance, of course, we will mainly see the artists of the Pécs National Theater company, but - as so many times before - guest artists who have completed university studies and students of the PTE Faculty of Arts majoring in singing will also have the opportunity to present themselves.

Humperdinck's fairytale opera is well-deserved on the international opera scene. Even the youngest and of course the ageless audience of the Pécs National Theater cannot do without this masterpiece.

A mese, az eszmélni készülődő gyermeki szellem szikráztatója. A mesék nyújtotta élmény élethosszig hat, alakítja a szellemet, utat mutat, örök emberi értékeket közvetít, s ezek mentén kínál olyan megoldásokat, melyek felnőtt korunkban is segítenek döntéseinkben. Ha egy ilyen - történetesen Grimm - mese megtalál egy olyan zeneszerzőt, mint Humperdinck, akit maga Gustav Mahler is a tökéletes zenei, szerkesztés mesterének tartott, akkor biztosra vehető, hogy remekmű születik. Ilyen romantikus-posztromantikus remekmű a Jancsi és Juliska.

Ez a csodálatos meseopera a gyermekekhez szól. Nem csak varázslatosan szép dallam-, és harmóniavilágával nyűgöz le, de azzal is, amilyen tökéletességgel illeszti mindezt a gyermeki lélek, a Grimm mese és a színpadi jelenlét világába.

Az előadásban természetesen főként a Pécsi Nemzeti Színház társulatának művészeit láthatjuk, de - mint már eddig is oly sokszor - fiatal, egyetemi tanulmányokat végzett vendégművészek, és a PTE Művészeti Karának énekművész szakos hallgatói is lehetőséget kapnak a bemutatkozásra.

Humperdinck meseoperája méltán szerepel a nemzetközi operaporondon. A Pécsi Nemzeti Színház legifjabb és persze kortalan közönsége sem nélkülözheti ezt a remekművet.
