Kira Raposa

Kira Kaplan is an exciting young American soprano known for empathy and authenticity on the operatic stage. For the 2023/2024 season she joins the UK National Opera Studio as a Young Artist. She was most recently seen on stage in summer 2023 starring as Violetta Valery with Brevard Music Center and Janiec Opera Company in La Traviata. Earlier this year, Kira debuted in the title role of Alcina in Handel's Alcina with the Boston Opera Institute. Of recent in the competition circuit, Kira has been seen as the First Place winner of the 2022 Camille Coloratura Awards, as the Boston District winner and Regional Finalist of the 2023 Metropolitan Opera Laffont Competition, and as a winner and recipient of the Full Career Bridges Grant from the Schuyler Foundation Career Bridges Competition.
