A trubadúrban árad a szenvedélyes, romantikus zene, a négy főszerep énekszólama pedig elképesztően nehéz – ahogy Caruso mondta, a darab sikeréhez egyvalami kell: „szerződtetni hozzá a Föld négy legjobb énekesét”. Az 1853-as római ősbemutató szenzációja után a mű az egész világot meghódította. Rigoletto, A trubadúr, Traviata. Giuseppe Verdi munkásságának új, érettebb szakaszába érkezett. „Egy jó tragédiában mindenkinek igaza van” – ez a bonmot már az ókori görög drámák óta ismert. Verdi továbbmegy: előszeretettel halmozza a koncentrált drámai helyzeteket; szeret olyan, szinte megoldhatatlan szituációkat teremteni, amelyben a legkomolyabb dilemmák között őrlődnek hősei. A trubadúr ékes példája ennek: politikai, szerelmi és bosszúdráma; a wagnerizmus megtestesült antitézise, az utolsó nagy olasz romantikus melodráma, amely az olasz opera egy fontos időszakának végét jelezte, mégis a szerző egyik legnépszerűbb darabja.
A mű ezúttal hangversenyszerűen szólal meg az Eiffel Műhelyház Mozdonycsarnokában. Szükség is lesz erre a hatalmas térre, amelyet a közönség minden bizonnyal meg fog tölteni. A szereposztás ugyanis Carusónak is kedvére lenne: Anna Netrebko és Yusif Eyvazov érkeznek, hogy elénekeljék Leonora és Manrico szerepét.

Passionate, romantic music flows in the troubadour , and the vocals of the four main characters are amazingly difficult - as Caruso said, the success of the piece requires one thing: "to sign the four best singers on Earth" . After the sensation of the premiere in Rome in 1853, the work conquered the whole world. Rigoletto, The Troubadour, Traviata . Giuseppe Verdi entered a new, more mature phase of his work. "In a good tragedy, everyone is right" - this maxim has been known since the ancient Greek dramas. Verdi goes further: he likes to pile on concentrated dramatic situations; he likes to create almost unsolvable situations, in which his heroes grind between the most serious dilemmas. Troubadour is a prime example of this: a political, love and revenge drama; the epitome of Wagnerism, the last great Italian romantic melodrama, which marked the end of an important period in Italian opera, yet remains one of the author's most popular pieces.
This time, the work will be performed like a concert in the Locomotive Hall of the Eiffel Workshop. There will also be a need for this huge space, which the audience will certainly fill. The casting would also please Caruso: Anna Netrebko and Yusif Eyvazov arrive to sing the roles of Leonora and Manrico.
